Just returned from a painting trip to the Fort Davis Mountains.   Highly recommend as a good getaway...your cell phone will not work.  Lots of wonderful vistas and barns...and street scenes in Fort Davis (downtown area). 
I did this 8 x 10 from Highway 118 on a sunny, but rather cool morning. 
This painting trip ended with a beautiful snowfall and brisk temperatures of 22 degrees.  A full day of driving....snow and sleet....wow! Texas weather!

A favorite painting spot by one of the most colorful and beautiful creeks in my home state. "Road Less Travelled" only respects the privacy of the people who reside nearby.
One must admit that it is difficult to keep this location a secret because it is not only peaceful, but quietly restful. A visitor to my studio commented that it was "the road less travelled" so hence the name.  She saw it in an unfinished state and there was much excitement as she viewed it, so I attempted to save the "unfinished look" and leave it "less travelled". 
It was a joy to paint and to return to the quiet roadway near the rushing creek waters that seemed to kind of sweep you away with it all!
