Had time for one more alley way painting. This is an 8 x 10. Did the photo in a bit too much sunlight, but this piece SOLD as well before I could re-shoot it.

The little town of Crested Butte should be well known for its wonderful alleyways. I did two of those during my painting trip there. This is the Saturday morning's quick draw piece. Yes, it sold.

The painting subjects just got better and better as the week progressed. However, the pesty little flies had just hatched and were swarming as I worked on this piece. Made me work quickly....paint strokes in between batting at flies.
Had to really work on keeping my focus on the scene.
Also, SOLD

Caught a glimpse of this one in my rear view mirror and of course, had to turn around and paint. (somewhere outside of Crested Butte). A number of fellow artists stopped by to visit during this painting time.
This one is SOLD.

 Sky Reflections, 8 x 10, Oil
Great to be a guest artist with a group of excellent painters, Rocky Mountain Plein Air Painters. Just returned from Crested Butte and will say that it was "the Best". The weather was cool and an abundance of painting subjects. "Sky Reflections, 8 x 10, was painted up on Slate River Road...there were several painters, Carol Swinney, Stephen Datz, Jake Gaedtke, and more. Each of us saw the scene through our own artist's vision.

Plein Air painting from a recent trip to the Fort Davis Mountains in Texas. This still looks a bit wintry, but the trees were actually starting to bud out....two days after this was painted, it snowed and sleeted!!

Last week I painted with several fellow members of Outdoor Painters Society and friends in Wimberly Texas. The workshop was instructed by Skip Whitcomb. What a great painter he is!!
Watch for a few snaps from the week. The event was hosted by Pitzer's Fine Art/Wimberly Art Workshops.
